For more than 50 years the company Raketa used to be the key subject connected to the development of transport in Uzice and on thew territory of western Serbia.The company used to be one of the most successful ones of its branch in the region employing more than 2,000 people.AApart from the passenger transport , Raketa had a well-developed freight transport and it also provided the services of servicing, overhaul and sale of motor vehicles.Unfortunately, Raketa is one of the examples of "failed " privatization , that is this company doesn’t exist any more.

Within the field of passenger transport, the most important transporter is the company Zlatan Prevoz. Apart from the city transport it has a well-developed inter-city transport.
