PRIVATIZATION IN UZICE

In Uzice 23 companies have been privatized , with variable success. The positive circumstance is that the key agents of development in Uzice have conducted the process of privatization and restructuring in a successful way.
Following the privatiyation model the companies of Uzice were privatized by means of an auction and privatization.

Tender privatization

Seval- Aluminium Rolling Mill  was the first company to be privatized by means of an auction .On 1^st October  2002 this company was bought the company  IMPOL from Slovenian Bistrica, Republic of Slovenia . The company was sold for Firma 6,500,000 USD, while the buyer had to give  6.214.243 USD for the social programme and 14.635.500 USD for the investment programme. Copper Rolling Mill is then second big enterprise from Uzice privatized by means of the auction. On 20.11.2003 this company was bought by the company East Point Holdings from Cyprus, whose owner is a famous Serbian businessman  Zorana Drakulića. Drakulić had to pay 3,000,000 euros for the company , as well as  6.820.000 euros for the social programme and 17.050.000 euros for the investment programme.
