DEPARTMENT FOR LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Department for local economic development was opened in the implementation of USAID's MEGA Program, along with their financial and technical assistance. The Department was established by the Decision of the City Council No. 021-2-1/06 on 29th December 2006, amending the Decision on the organization of Local administration. The Regulation on internal organization and job classification was issued on the basis of Article 91 Paragraph 2 Statute of the City of Uzice and in accordance with Article 26, on decision of City government, Chief of the City Administration for finance, accounting and business, with the consent of the City Council. Department for local economic development exist within the City government for finance, accounting and business.

Department for local economic development, performs professional duties:

-Promotion of local economic development

-Attracting new investment

-Support the process of investing

-Support local business community

-The promotion of entrepreneurship and creation of preconditions for increasing the quality of life, economic development of the City of Uzice, through the initiation, management, supervision and implementation of projects and other activities in the field of economic development.

LED department works closely with the Mayor, the City Chamber, City administrations, The Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Regional Development Agency "Zlatibor", Public Company " Constructing Directoraty" and other public enterprises and public institutions, business associations and other associations, NGOs and civil societies.
